SAM Update 3-24-17
Greeting SAM Members,
Spring is here! Activities for the spring are underway in your schools and we hope you are doing very well. The legislature continues to debate the issues some 62 days into the session, leaving 28 days to complete the work in making laws for our state. Here is an update on key items...
2017 Legislative Session Update
Week 12 was quite a week in the legislative session due to the rush of bills being marked up for committee hearings -- the race to make the March 31 transmittal deadline for bills with appropriations and revenue. An in depth update of bill progress can be reviewed by clicking HERE. The schedule of hearings for next week is changing so rapidly that we will wait until Sunday afternoon to prepare the details for Week 13. You can check on that by going the SAMLegislative Network 2017 webpage. Thanks to all SAM members and SAMLN17 members who have worked diligently to make contacts for CALLS to ACTION this past week and throughout the session!

Professional Learning for administrators serving schools in Montana will be raised to a new level with the great opportunities that will be there for you with the SAM Leaders Professional Learning Program (LPLP) 2017-18! The SAM executive board recently approved the implementation of the 2017-18 SAM LPLP based on some really great changes to the professional development delivery system that has helped over 200 administrators the past 4 years.
Click HERE to see a short video describing the SAM LPLP Resource Center and HERE to see the Resource Center 'Mission, Vision and Core Values' Unit as a sample of the great value this would have for your learning. This message is intended to whet your appetite to join with administrators all over the state in taking advantage of this professional development delivery system intended to personalize your professional learning to assist you in your work for the students in your schools. Expect to see the launch of SAM LPLP 2017-18 and registration materials available on the first week of April!!
